Born and raised in Hermosa Beach, CA, I am proud to say that I’m a beach girl through and through. Most of my life was spent surfing, playing volleyball or enjoying the laid back feeling that only Southern California exudes. Growing up in Los Angeles allowed me to appreciate the arts, entertainment and creativity. I have always been pulled towards jobs where passion and interest are just as important as hard work and drive. I know where I come from. The experiences I have had and the people I have met along the way have all brought me to where I am today and the career I continue to love and chase.
After living in Boulder, Colorado for a few years, I found myself wanting a change and relocated to Dallas, Texas. It is here where I figured out how to put my love for music towards something more than just a hobby. I worked for Clear Channel as a Promotions Assistant at Kiss FM. It was clear, very quickly that I knew being a part of this creative environment was something I could excel in. Being able to see what goes on behind the studio doors was fascinating and eventually lead me to New York City. With a one-way ticket and two suitcases, I was heading towards the Big Apple. Within a few weeks I was hired by The Agency Group, one of the largest booking agencies for bands. During my time at TAG, I was able to learn how national and world tours are booked, the challenges that go into routing bands as well as contracts and negotiations. I was surrounded by passionate people from all walks of life who simply loved their jobs and I was inspired to continue to climb the ladder.
In 2007 I moved back to Dallas and began working at The Granada Theater, a premiere live music venue where I spent an incredible life changing four and a half years. I promoted over 1000 concerts, marketing events and parties, experienced the creation and expansion of our promotions and marketing department and helped launch a new restaurant. That opportunity helped me absorb an infinite amount of information about marketing, media buying and creating brand awareness. I was also taught how essential customer service is when it comes to running a successful business. In October of 2011, I was offered a position as the Show Marketing Manager at the AT&T Performing Arts Center and this was the perfect next step in my growth in the marketing/advertising fields.
At the AT&T Performing Arts Center, I was hired to create media and marketing campaigns, manage our public relations and advertising agency, identify demographics and make the best use of our pre-determined marketing budget for every show in order to sell tickets. Working for a non-profit and being exposed to the performing arts in such an up close way really increased my knowledge of the Dallas media market as well as other kinds of entertainment.
Currently, I am living in Lakewood and really love East Dallas and the people who live here! I enjoy taking full advantage of the lake and stay as active as I possibly can. I am married to an amazing man who I met while working at the Granada Theater named Joshua who is the General Manager of a local radio station and has an equal love for music and marketing. We live with our Australian Shepard, Bear as well as Joshua’s 8 year old triplets, Finn, Ainslee and Anne-Claire. When we aren’t running around with the kids, going to concerts, attending radio station events or traveling, I also spend time with a little girl I mentor through the Big Brothers/Sisters program. I prefer to be busy and am happiest when I am surrounded by a ton of activities.
I am looking for a position where I can put my rigorous work ethic, my organizational skills and my love for anything marketing/media planning/advertising /public relations to work. I believe that Dallas has so much to offer and I consider it a privilege to be able to open people’s eyes to products, places, and the people that constitute the local scene.
